Pre-Start Health and Safety Review (PSR)

Prior to the initial operation of any machinery or equipment (new, used or modified) in a potentially hazardous workplace environment, the employer is responsible for ensuring that a thorough safety review has been completed and a report has been prepared indicating that the machinery or equipment is safe. Every time a system configuration changes, a new risk assessment must be conducted and, if necessary, a new safety review and report completed.

Risk assessments are carried out to reduce the likelihood of employee injury in the workplace. Risk assessments allow for the identification, elimination or control of existing or potential safety hazards.

Staff at GS Inspection Consultants Inc. conduct safety reviews and prepare reports on industrial machinery and equipment. We verify that our clients machinery or equipment meets the appropriate safety standards and conforms to the regulations outlined by CSA, ANSI, or similar governing agencies. We also verify that machinery or equipment complies with the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and its associated regulations.
